Introduction

To ensure the integrity of the department structure and facilitate resource and research integration, the Language Teaching Center (LTC) became independent from the College of Liberal Arts in 2009. The center is primarily responsible for conducting university-wide English courses. In 2007, in line with the Ministry of Education's Teaching Excellence Project, the LTC established the Foreign Language Learning Area, including the "Language Corner" and the "Self-learning Context Center." The aim is to equip graduates from the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Management with strong foreign language skills, enhance student motivation, and improve overall language proficiency to better prepare them for professional careers.
In response to campus space adjustments, the LTC moved to the Phase IV Teaching Building in September 2010. It currently houses six professional language teaching classrooms, two computer-assisted language classrooms, one multimedia language classroom, and two self-learning context classrooms. The second floor of the Phase IV Teaching Building contains the offices and two professional language classrooms (ATD0201 & ATD0202), while the third floor has four professional language classrooms (ATD0301~ATD0304) and the Foreign Language Learning Area (Library 5F Coffee Reading Zone). Additionally, the first floor of the Information Building has two computer language classrooms (AIA0101 & AIA0103), and the third floor has one multimedia language classroom (AIA0301) available for student use.
